What’s moving off the back burner?

We are headed into Labor Day weekend here in the US. I count this holiday as the unofficial end of summer and back-to-school weekend that will lead us into fallπŸ‚, which is my favorite season.

If you don't know, September 1st is when I make pumpkin waffles πŸŽƒπŸ§‡, start putting cinnamon in everything🍏, and attend my first Halloween event πŸŽƒπŸ‘»

Yes, I’m one of those people.

I ❀️ LOVE this season. With all the unsettled anger, fear, and division in our world, I like to go all in on the things that make me feel joy. I’m really excited about this weekend and trying to amplify that feeling.

What are you feeling excited about? Amplify it by letting me know!!

Last week, I talked about my reseasoned cast iron skillet story. 🍳 Since I’m still playing with that metaphor, it spurred another “Thursday Thought.”

What are you moving off the back burner?

The back-to-school season also feels like getting back into the swing of things after a summer of play and travel🌞✈️. With every transition, I like to reflect and be intentional about where I put my energy and focus.  So, what reseasoned cast iron skillet would you like to move this fall from the back burner onto the front burner?πŸ”₯

We all have projects, ideas, dreams, and wishes that we must put on the back burner because other things in life take priority. Since there are always lots of obligations, responsibilities, and adulting to do every weekπŸ—“οΈπŸ€―, it’s easy to put some of those ideas and projects on the back burner and forget they are there or continue to believe there isn’t any room on the front burner for them.

While it’s true that there is limited space up front, and we do need to be discerning, taking something off the back burner and moving it up could mean that you’re giving it a small but focusedπŸ” amount of consistent attention

For me, that looks like spending a max of two hours a week ⏰ on a new project. I know it doesn’t seem like much, but it’s about 90 minutes of progress that I wasn’t making before.

And while it’s too early to tell you about it, I can feel the life force of that project reawakening, and it feels exciting.

So, my friend, what’s one thing you’d like to take off the back burner? πŸ€”

And when will you put a little ⚑energy and πŸ’–love into it?
